Man dead after being struck by driver in Milwaukie

MILWAUKIE, Ore. — A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a driver on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Milwaukie Police Department. 

Police were called at 1:40 p.m. to Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard near the intersection with Southeast 22nd Avenue. When officers arrived, they learned that a man was in the roadway when he was struck by a driver traveling on Southeast Mcloughlin Boulevard. The man, who has not been identified, was declared dead at the scene.

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators, said the Milwaukie Police Department. The Clackamas County crash reconstruction team (CRAFT) was dispatched and is working with Milwaukie police and the county medical examiner to investigate.

Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard, as well as part of Highway 99 East, was temporarily closed from Southeast Washington Street to Southeast River Road for the crash response and investigation.
